This blog is updated so infrequently that I’m sure there must be many out there who wonder why it still exists.
Apart from being a permanent record of our trip overseas, and a record of our lives for almost three years now, it fills a hole that I get every now and again to write a blog post.
It’s a feeling that happens sadly infrequently now, given the commitments of family, work and other hobbies, but when it happens it happens, so here I am.
It’s been a quiet week at home. Megan and Liv went down to Wellington last Friday to be with a family member who was in hospital. All is well at last update.
So I’ve been having a guys week, doing my own laundry, dishes, shopping, cooking etc. It’s surprising I’ve even managed time to fit in the ridiculous amount of gaming I’ve done. There’s also been quite a bit of loud (speakers work best at higher volumes :)) DVD watching of movies I think Megan wouldn’t be interested in. Last week this was Wall Street and V for Vendetta, and over the next four days I intend to watch Terminator 3, Spiderman 2, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, The Perfect Storm and Daredevil (all were on this list for best surround sound DVD’s).
It’s a bit weird being by myself for a little over a week. Megan will tell you that I love having “me” time, and this is true, but I’ve certainly missed them both. Craziest was the other night when Megan put me on loudspeaker while talking to her and I started talking to Liv. Obviously she didn’t respond, but Megan told me that she was turning around looking for me behind her. Knowing my little girl was looking for me and wasn’t going to find me was a little sad (I’m obviously far from the macho man), but at least they’ll be back on Monday (just in time for Megan to repair the relationship with our neighbours destroyed by the volume of my movie watching).
In the meantime, bring on the rain, since for the next few days I’m hardly going to even look out the window.
The passion for this subject shines through The words. Inspiring!
