It came to my attention just now that the last post from us was after the Scotland All Blacks game.
Some will know that we went down to Cardiff for the All Blacks Quarter Final last weekend and most will know the result.
I won’t go into it too much at this stage, but let’s just say it was one of the worst moments of my life (I’ve obviously lived a pretty untragic life).
I/we are doing alright now though, I think it’s easier to move on being over here. There’s nothing in the media about it, compared to the NZ media who can’t seem to write or talk about anything else.
My memory will always be of a guy in front of me throwing his £5 program off the balcony in anger at the end of the game. There were a lot of unhappy New Zealanders in Cardiff that night.

There was 2 minutes to go and suddenly you knew what was happening and yet you kept hoping. My family were gutted, we sat there looking at the TV screen lost for words. That night this woman just cried and cried on TV…we don’t like to lose our rugby.
In the middle of Auckland there is a giant row of four billboards counting down to the final which has morbidly kept ticking down. It means something different now.
Dude, those billboards sound terrible. I managed not to watch either of the games this weekend. I don’t know what people in NZ want to happen but I’m quietly going to be cheering for South Africa. If England win again I am NEVER going to hear the end of it.
